Hey, groovy freedomist. Ain’t gonna mince words, here. This is one lame update. Mrs. Groovy and I had too little time this week—what with the demands of my opus and our house—to write a proper post. So all I have to report is this:

One: We paid Terry another $50,000 this past Friday. This brings the cost of Groovy Ranch up to $137,993.90. That’s fairly close to the halfway mark. I figure we have about $150,000 to go.

Two: The exterior siding is complete and the primer has been applied. We’re going with a classic white farmhouse. Painting should be done by Friday.

Okay, groovy freedomist, that’s all I got. Did I tell you this was one lame update? Hope all is well on your end. Peace.

    1. Haha! I wish I could. We just told our builder we wanted a 24×28 garage and he put the plans together on a napkin. In fact, he built before he got a permit for it. No worries, though. He just got a permit for last week. I guess it pays to have a decades-long relationship with the building department. But I see your point. I’ll do an update devoted solely to the garage as soon as the garage is complete. Have a great weekend, my friend.

    1. Yes, Mrs. G told me about your new plans. I’m all for it, especially if you relocate to Nashville. We need more honorary southerners of your caliber.

        1. Ha ha…and maybe I can join you both in retirement! Yeah the lot is for sale. I have put in like $50k up to this point in design and permitting, but it will be worth every dollar to move with this chapter closed.

          See you guys soon!

  1. You are in the true DIY spirit.

Have you ever tried to make this into one page with like a table of contents? I feel like I have missed the middle parts haha. Off to give you pageviews for those right now^.^

    1. Thanks for reminding me, Olivia. We have a page dedicated to our Groovy Ranch updates, but I haven’t updated it in a while. I’m taking care of that oversight now.

    1. I know. We really lucked out with our builder. Terry and his team just do solid work. Mrs. G and I haven’t had a fight in months.

    1. We were a little scared about the all-white farmhouse. We thought it looked great in pictures, but were a little concerned about how it would look in real life. Not anymore.
