We started day five in Sydney with a fair amount of ambition. We wanted to go to Manly Beach and have a nice dinner in the Rocks neighborhood. But Circular Quay (pronounced “Key) was a madhouse and we would have waited at least an hour and a half to catch a ferry to Manly. Apparently, the Sydney transit system is capped at $2.70 per person on Sundays. Otherwise ferries can run somewhere around $7 to $9. So a lot of Aussies take advantage of this perk, especially ones with families. Therefore the line for the Manly ferry was super long. So rather than battle the crush of humanity, Mrs. G and I decided to walk over the Sydney Harbor Bridge and spend some time in the town of Kirribilli. We had a wonderful time and even met an expat from Mrs. G’s old neighborhood in Manhattan.

Here’s a picture of some bridge climbers we saw as we walked over the Sydney Harbor Bridge.

Here’s a picture of the entrance to Luna Park in Kirribilli. It’s kind of like the Coney Island of Sydney.

And, finally, here’s our Talking Trash for day five of our Australian adventure.
