The other day, I came across this video in my YouTube feed:
And here’s the title to that video:
MUST WATCH: Byron Donalds Absolutely Lights Into Boston Mayor Michelle Wu In Fiery Exchange
I didn’t watch it. I wasn’t in the mood to throw up.
And it’s not because I have anything against Representative Donalds. By our incredibly low standards, I’m sure he’s a fine representative. And I’m sure Mayor Wu deserves to be lit up.
Nope, I refused to watch this “outrage” video because I’m sick and tired of impotent Republican “outrage.” For 45 years I’ve been watching the Republicans “light into” the Democrats. And all during that time, they did nothing to stop the Woke—the most fanatical Democrats in the land by far—from marching through our institutions and establishing cultural hegemony. As a result, the Democrats have de facto control of education, journalism, entertainment, and the administrative state. And they have used this de facto control to…
- Weaponize immigration, and make sure the Democrat’s voting base grows and the Republican’s voting base withers.
- Weaponize history, and make sure our young people hate our Founding Fathers and America.
- Weaponize science, and make sure every Democrat policy initiative or want is supported by scores of “peer-reviewed studies.”
- Weaponize news, and make sure anything that embarrasses the Democrats goes down the memory hole and anything that embarrasses the Republicans goes into the memory loop.
- Weaponize honor, and make sure Americans are stigmatized, not for placating their base impulses, but for subduing them.
- Weaponize achievement, and make sure Americans are hailed, not for doing something worthwhile and hard, but for having the “right” skin color or “right” sexual preferences, or for being the “right” kind of victim.
So if you happen to be a Democrat, cheer up. President Trump’s “reign of terror” will last two years at most. The Democrats will gain control of the House in the midterms because the Republicans won’t do crap to materially improve anything that matters. Republicans simply don’t care. All they care about is enriching themselves and their donors and engaging in the performative art of “lighting into” the Democrats.
Okay, groovy freedomist, that’s all I got. I say the Republicans “ain’t worth a warm bucket of spit” when it comes to safeguarding our wallets and our liberty. What say you?
Given that we’ve been known to binge watch Trailer Park Boys, I’d say growing some brain cells is a very good thing!
Mrs Groovy recently posted…Republicans and the Distraction of Performative Art
Yes, when one of your vices is the Trailer Park Boys, you need all the brain-cell growing help you can get.
Great article Mr. Groovy. You offer some great and unique insights.
I am trying to be more optimistic, hoping that President Trump can finally cajole and embarrass the Republicans into actually doing something worthwhile and lasting for a change. His constant media presence is unparalleled by previous administrations and may just give him the advantage he needs to herd these cats.
Agreed. President Trump is not afraid to call out woke Republicans. And if he uses his bully pulpit to be an Embarasser-In-Chief, there’s a slim chance the Republicans will put America and the taxpayers first rather than themselves and their donors. Thanks for stopping by, Steve. I really appreciate your contribution to our conversation. Peace.
Remember the Harlem Globetrotters? They always had the same opponent the Washington Generals. Their entire raison d’être was to lose to the Globetrotters. The mortal sin of Donald Trump is that he’s the apocalypse: by refusing to lose to the Democrats he revealed that the GOP has been playing to lose since FDR. (The word apocalypse means revelation.)
So, we had the SOTU speech and the Democrats do what they do when not screwing us over: they caused a fuss. And the GOP did what the GOP does: they clutched their pearls.
It’s our job to take a delivery from the clue train and see the grift.
Ditto what I said to Bill. I couldn’t agree more, and I marvel at your eloquence. This comment, like Bill’s, made me grow brain cells.
My, my, my. The truths be told. Let’s add that about 40% of NRA “members:” are too lazy and satisfied with the current state of affairs to bother traising themselves up from the couch to register to vote or vote. GOYA is MIA across the front and leads to KIA. Apathy wins as always. Primary voting is key to instilling fear and change in the ruling class.
Thank you, Bill. One, because I couldn’t agree more. And, two, because your eloquent comment was a joy to read.
