From what I can gather, here are the latest incentives for buying an electric plug-in vehicle in the Build Back Better Act (see pages 1480-1493):
| Incentive Description | Incentive Amount |
|---|---|
| Base Incentive for Electric Drive Motor | $4,000 |
| Battery Capacity of 40 Kilowatt Hours or More | $3,500 |
| Battery Cells Made in the United States | $500 |
| EV Assembled in the United States by Union Labor | $4,500 |
| Total Potential Incentives for Buying an EV | $12,500 |
Now, we are told by our betters that man-made climate change is an existential threat. The science is settled for heaven’s sake! So why are our intellectually and morally superior betters in Congress playing around with the incentives for buying an EV? Why is union labor favored over non-union labor?
Call me nuts, but if our intellectually and morally superior betters in Congress really believed that we’re on the precipice of an environmental catastrophe, they wouldn’t be engaging in crony capitalism and throwing a nice, meaty bone to GM, Ford, and the UAW.
Bison Build Update
The main motivation behind my bison build is Mrs. Groovy. She loves Montana, and since moving to Montana isn’t practical at this point in our lives, I decided to move a little part of Montana to Franklin County, North Carolina. At some point next spring, Mrs. Groovy will be able to sit on our screened-in porch and look at a metal bison migrating across our lawn.
And to solidify the connection between Billy Bob and the great state of Montana, we purchased an old Montana license plate. Here’s said license plate attached to Billy Bob’s right rump/flank. Pretty neat, huh?

Okay, groovy freedomist, that’s all I got. Have a great weekend. Peace.
