About a month or so ago, I realized that I wasn’t doing one of the things I said I was going to do in retirement. I wasn’t picking up trash. For some reason, I thought my assault on litter should wait until Mrs. Groovy and I relocated to Wake Forest. But then it hit me: “I’m retired, and there’s plenty of litter in Charlotte. What the heck am I waiting for?”
Since I had no good answer for my indolence, I logged onto Amazon and ordered a safety vest and a trash picker. Woo-hoo! My assault on litter would soon begin.
But then something funny happened while I waited for my Amazon order. I had another epiphany. “Why don’t I record my assault on litter and make those videos part of my blog?”
Again, since I had no good answer for why I shouldn’t start a trash vlog, I logged onto Amazon and ordered a harness that would secure my smartphone to my chest. And, then, to really seal the deal, I announced to the world on Stacking Benjamins that videos of me picking up litter would soon be gracing my website.
Okay, groovy freedomists, here it is. My first foray into the world of vlogging. Not the most thrilling thing you’ll ever watch, and the production quality is pretty lame. But you will get a glimpse of an errant baseball and Mrs. Groovy’s feet. Have a great weekend. Peace.
