Mr. Groovy’s bookโor his opus, as we call it in GroovylandโThe Groovy Guide To Financial Independence (How To Escape The Tyranny Of Mandatory Toil In Fourteen Years Or Less)โis now available on Amazon!
Prior to marrying in our 40s, Mr. Groovy and I were financial morons.ย The Groovy Guide to Financial Independenceย tells the story of how Mr. Groovy and I de-moronified our financial lives and journeyed to financial independence in “a mere fourteen years.”
And just how did we do this?
By embracing good financial habits.ย
What’s In the Book
If you’re a follower of this blog, you’re familiar with the fact that Mr. Groovy has some very original ideas about money and life. He discusses many of them in the book, including:
- Personal Responsibility Warrior (do you have what it takes to be a PRW?)
- Strategic Ignorance
- Half Normalism
- False Wealth
- Geoarbitrage, Spatial Arbitrage, and Egotrage
- Talking Trash
- Big Freedoms vs. Little Freedoms
Mr. Groovy also shares his thoughts on other topical issues, such as:
- The College-Industrial Complex (which Mr. Groovy thinks is a scam)
- The Healthcare-Industrial Complex (which Mr. Groovy calls a joke)
- Honor, Freedom, and Financial Independence (which Mr. Groovy believes are all intimately linked)
We Get By with a Little Help from our Friends
To keep things really interesting, we reached out to nearly twenty personal finance bloggers and asked them to contribute content to The Groovy Guide. In each chapter, you’ll gain wisdom not only from Mr. Groovy but from one or more amazing individuals who are also expert about the FI journey. But wait, there’s more. Financial luminary Fritz Gilbert of the Retirement Manifestoย set the tone for The Groovy Guide with a very impressive Foreword,ย and, we’re proud to say that The Groovy Guide received advance praise from several personal finance superstarsโMichelle Schroeder-Gardner, Philip Taylor, Financial Samurai, and JL Collins. How freakin’ groovy is that!
We are truly honored and blessed that these awesome people took time out of their very busy lives to help us. The personal finance community is truly the most gracious and inspiring community in the blogosphere.
And we are truly honored and blessed to have you as our readers.
Thank you all for putting up with our yapping about this book for the past six months or so.
And yes, I DID refer to it as “the book no one would read,” but that’s only because I was frustrated. My husband, the “delicate genius,” has gotten away with murder the past six months. We’ve moved twice and are building a house. Those things don’t happen by themselves. They require a lot of decisions. And every time those decisions swelled in number and complexity, Mr. Groovy conveniently retreated to his writing oasis so he could work on his “opus.” Oy! Meh!! Sheeesh!!!
Well, I have to admitโit was worth it.
I hope you will find it worth it too and get your copy of The Groovy Guide to Financial Independence today. And if you enjoy what you readโplease be sure to leave a review on Amazon.
P.S. To those who’ve contributed to the book or helped with editing, we’re sending you a link to an Amazon gift copy of the book as a small token of our appreciation.ย
